Grilled Peppers with Easy Peeling Instructions

Ingredients:

• Fresh bell peppers (assorted colors)

• Additional seasonings (optional)

Instructions:

1. Selecting and Preparing Peppers:

• Choose fresh, firm bell peppers with vibrant colors.

• Wash the peppers thoroughly.

• Cut the peppers in half or quarters, removing the seeds and membranes.

2. Preheating the Grill:

• Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean to prevent sticking.

3. Arranging on the Grill:

• Place the pepper pieces directly on the preheated grill grates, skin side down. This allows them to char and become tender without the need for oil or salt.

4. Grilling Time:

• Grill the peppers for approximately 6-20minutes per side, depending on your desired level of char and tenderness. For easier peel ensure there is enough char on it without burning it

• Rotate the peppers to achieve even grill marks.

5. Checking for Doneness:

• The peppers are ready when they are charred, slightly blistered, and tender. Use a fork to test their doneness; it should easily pierce the flesh.

6. Removing from the Grill:

• Carefully remove the grilled peppers from the grill using tongs.

7. Cooling for Easy Peeling:

• Allow the grilled peppers to cool for a few minutes. This makes the peeling process more manageable.

8. Peeling the Skin:

• Gently peel the skin off the peppers using your fingers or a small knife. The charred skin should come off easily.

• If needed, place the grilled peppers in a bowl and cover them with a lid or plastic wrap. The steam will help loosen the skin, making it even easier to peel.

9. Serving Suggestions:

• Serve in water with sugar, vinegar and oil. They are great as a side dish or incorporate them into salads, sandwiches, or other dishes.

10. Optional Enhancements:

• If desired, drizzle with balsamic glaze, sprinkle with fresh herbs, or add a squeeze of lemon for extra flavor. My favorite is sterian pumpkin oil.
