Salty sticks with Butter

Pastry:

• 500g flour

• 1 tablespoon salt

• 250g butter (or margarine)

• 250g grated cheese (if 50g is smoked, it’s heavenly)

• 1 egg

• 200gsour cream

For the Top:

• 1 egg

• Grated cheese

Mix the salty flour with the butter (or margarine) until crumbly, then combine with the other ingredients to form the dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

The next day, roll out the dough to about a finger’s thickness, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with cheese, and cut into strips about half a centimeter wide using a pizza cutter. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 15-20 minutes.

You can also make small savory scones from the dough. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 cm, then use a small scone cutter with a diameter of about 2.5-3 cm. Bake in a 200°C oven.
